My wife was the AA to the GM of the largest hotel in the South. To have weekends uninterrupted by calls from the hotel, we went to another hotel in the chain under assumed names. The GM there "hid" us in exchange for us "hiding" him when he needed a break. The great benefits of her long employment, however, included gifts from the Mayor of her city and the Governor of her state. If you really want something done in a large organization, become a friend to the AA!

Regarding your #2 above, it is much more likely the person calling in has not done the basic troubleshooting steps, which is why techs always ask you to do so. YOU may be more technically skilled, but I guarantee most calling in are not.

Oh my god girl-- this describes my project mate to a "t." She is driving me crazy!!!! Everything from her is a patronizing lesson in how to improve my career, blah, blah, blah...nevermind that I have more IT experience then her and two business degrees to boot.

I can only imagine who in our group would do such a thing. I would have thought we knew better but I guess someone forgot to teach a few folks in the company email etiquette 101. "Reply all" is NOT to be used in every instance and should not be your default mode lest one forgets and sends out said CLM (career limiting message)to the company at large.

Thanks for sharing these things it makes my day a little bit brighter to know someone else is experiencing the utterly "dumb" stuff that happens on a daily sometimes hourly basis.
